Thoughts about life, church planting, and other things.
Here’s a radical new concept for you…be nice. That’s what the gurus in this article say. Generally speaking, I think caring for other people is vastly under-rated in our society. Nice isn’t really even a compliment any more. What would you think if you were going to go on a blind date and they described your date as nice. You’d probably run like crazy. However, caring for others is what we are called to do. We are called to love others.
Try being nice today. The results might surprise you.

My Fathers name is Clifford, but his friends all call him “Willy.” As a Child, this confused me. One day, as a teen I asked one of his friends, Rodger, why they called him that.
His reply: “From the time when we were kids, to this very day, there has NEVER been ANYTHING that your father was not WILLING to do to help his friends. He would loan them his last dollar, or get off a ten hour shift at the mill and spend the rest of the day light hours helping them finish putting shingles on their roof. We call him “Willy” because there was never any question of “Will He” help or not!”
Those words changed my view of my dad that day. To this day, I try to live up to that model. I can only hope to be thought half as well of by my friends.
