Baptism Party

Wow!  That’s about all I can say about last night’s Baptism Party.  I think it was our best one yet and that’s saying a whole lot!

I loved the surprise wedding that we pulled off.  I realize that a lot of people already knew about the wedding but I think most of the folks there were surprised when I came up on stage wearing my wedding garb.  I thought the wedding was very moving.

Then, we baptized 19 people.  19 people!!!  I couldn’t believe how many folks we had that wanted to be baptized and each of them had a compelling story.

I have to be honest and say that I love the way be do baptisms at Mill Creek.  It’s awesome to hear the stories behind each life that has been changed.  I know it takes a little time but it’s worth it to me.  In fact, I have a hard time not getting choked up while I’m reading the testimonies.

I know I say it at each baptism party but baptisms illustrate why we do what we do at Mill Creek and if you miss a baptism party, you’ve missed a lot.

One great thing about having our baptism parties at “The Family Church” is that we get to hang out afterwards.  We don’t get to do that much as a church at the movies theaters so it’s wonderful to see so many of the folks from Mill Creek just hanging out and getting to know each other.  It truly feels like one big family when we do that.

Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to make it such a special evening.  (I especially want to thank the refreshment team that did yet another outstanding job!)  I can’t wait for the next one.
