Worship Planning 2.0
We’ve been using a web-based service planning tool called Planning Center for a long time now. It’s great. It allows us to put all our service information in one place and everyone involved can see all the details in real-time as we plan the services.
We basically put our entire service order (flow) in the system as we go along. It notifies people of changes and also lets different folks know when they are need for certain Sundays. (We get emails telling us which team members have accepted our invitation to participate in the service.) It’s so much better than trying to keep everything in an excel spreadsheet and then attempting to get that information out to everyone.
On the musical end of things, the service allows our worship leader, Seth White, to upload charts and MP3s for his team members to download, if they need them. We used to have all sorts of problems emailing all that stuff out and people were getting things that they didn’t need, etc.
It really is a great tool and you get your first month free so if you’re a pastor be sure to check it out.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing – we may give it a shot – what plan do you use? Huge jump between the 9.00 and 29.00. Ouch! If you could share your files someplace else theres a free option. I like free!
