As a pastor, the week before Easter is always a strange week for me.  On one hand, it’s a busy week.  It’s always filled with all sorts of things that have to get done before Easter.  It’s also filled with attacks from the enemy.  (Ed Young’s comments are dead on.)  On the other hand, I’m so very mindful of everything Jesus has done for me.  I’m so very thankful that He thought we were worth the cost of the cross and He ransomed us all.

I’m also keenly aware of His goodness to me personally.  When I think back to the moment when He intercepted me and brought me out of the darkness, words simply fail me.

Then, to top it all off, He didn’t just love me and leave me.  He continued to work with me and love me.  As the Great Shepherd, He has always watched me and pulled me back on the path when I have wandered off.

At the end of the day, I don’t really care about the attacks and the problems that surround Easter.  I love Easter.  I love it because it reminds me of what’s really important in life.
