Thoughts about life, church planting, and other things.
I’m addicted to the firecracker tilapia at Chili’s. This is remarkable for several reasons. First, I hate everything at Chili’s and generally refuse to eat there. Second, I don’t like things made with fish or in the proximity of fish. Third, I don’t like spicy things that much. Fourth, the dish is supposed to be fairly good for you and I don’t generally like the taste of anything that’s good for me. SO, it seems that this dish is some sort of miracle dish and/or I’m going through some sort of metamorphosis. Regardless, you should check it out when you get a chance. Trust me. You’ll love it.

I hate to take this away from you, but I loved tilapia once too. Then, very innocently, I watched an episode of Dirty Jobs and they were visiting a bass fish hatchery. Needless to say, it is a very “dirty” environment but the hatchery has a great plan for keeping it cleaner….they employ the services of tilapia. Yep, the bass produce “dirt” and the tilapia help to “clean” the water. Now the hatchery gets two crops for the price of one. It is a win-win, right? Maybe not.
I am a marketer, so perhaps I should call Chili’s and recommend they call this tasty dish “Firecrapper Tilapia.”

I didn’t know that about Tilapia, Bryan. But shrimp is pretty much the same–a bottom feeder as well. And that’s pretty darn tasty, and I probably won’t quit eating that any time soon!

After Bryan’s comments, I’m not sure “bottom-feeder” is the best choice of words… Actually, maybe it is.
