Can’t comment on Macs, but I recently purchased a ThinkPad instead of my standard Dells in part because of the oppressive Dell heat (standard in all models). No regrets.

Yep. If you're actually using your lap, you'll probably want to address it. I usually just use a lapboard, but they make stuff specifically for the issue. Check these two out...
