Sunday Stuff

  • We had a great day at Fusion today despite my sermon being so-so.
  • For whatever reason, I just couldn’t seem to get into the groove with my message but it seems that God used it anyway so that’s cool.
  • I’ve really been preaching more than teaching lately.  I’m not sure how long it’s going to stay like that.
  • Will Henderson, Mountain Lake’s church planting intern, and his wonderful family stopped by Fusion this morning.  He had some kind words on his blog about his visit.  He’s going to be coming back in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to get to spend some real time with him then.
  • I’ve gotten into a bad habit of saying “hello?” a lot during my messages.  I said it 19 times this weekend.  Not good.  I’ve got to change that.
  • Did anybody else know that Tim Burton is making Alice in Wonderland into a live-action movie?  That should be visually stunning and slightly too creepy for kids.  ;)  Photos here.
  • My sermons have been getting longer and longer lately.  I’ve got to fix that trend…I think.  (More on this later.)
  • God is so very good.
  • I’m thinking about moving our offices to Dawsonville.
  • EW posted a great article and some cool photos regarding the upcoming Star Trek movie.  It all looks very good to me.
  • I want to re-preach my sermon from today.  When I finished the first draft I had nine or so solid points.  I had to cram that into one message.  I think I could have done a full series on that one passage.
  • It was actually cold last night.  We had to turn on the heat.  I love this time of year!
  • God is changing so much inside of me these days.  It’s crazy.
  • The earlier bullet about moving offices was just a joke for my staff.  ;)
  • The band did a great job with the song at the end of the message today!
  • Halloween candy has made it into our house.  Yes!
  • I believe that God has more changes in store for Fusion.
  • I just can’t get enough time with the Lord lately.  My desire to seek Him in Bible study and prayer is almost insatiable.
  • Sarah Palin did a good job on SNL.  I appreciate people who have the ability to laugh at themselves.
  • That’s it for now.  Later.
