Hilarious

I saw this video this morning on Ben Arment’s blog and I’ve just got to share it.  Maybe it’s just because I’m a tech goon but this thing cracked me up.

Important Building News

news42

I've got some important building news that I need to share with you all. Please watch this five-minute video for all the details.

Cool School Musical

We never did anything like this when I was in school.  If we had, I think I would have been a lot more interested.  :)

Just look at the faces of these kids.  They are seriously in to singing that song.

Quick Verse

So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.’”  Zech. 4:6 (NIV)

Heading to THR3E

threeblogTonight, after visiting with a couple of growth groups, I’m heading to the THR3E event in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The event is being put together by the great folks at Elevation Church and I believe that it’s going to be unlike anything I’ve ever been to before.  I suspect that it’s going to be a little like drinking from a fire hydrant but I’m ready.  I’m going filled with expectation about what God is going to say to me while I’m away on this little one day trip.  I’m really looking forward to it!

Please pray that I get everything out of this event that the Lord has for me.  Also, pray that my trusty Jeep remains trusty and trustworthy.  Beyond that, pray that I stay awake.  I’m heading out very late tonight.

Thanks.

The Announcement

logo_smallYesterday, we announced that there is a building that we feel that the Lord is telling us to go for.  The building would be perfect for us.  We are trying to work out a lease option deal but we’re still in negotiations for the space so I can’t really talk very much about the specifics right now.  I can tell you that we see this building as a real opportunity from the Lord and as a next step in our journey as a church.

Beyond that, we committed together as a church to pray daily about this opportunity and to seek the Lord about the role He would have each of us play financially to make this miracle happen.

I think it’s safe to say that our church is really jacked up about all this!  Actually, that’s an understatement.  We’re VERY jacked up about all this!  The potential of what we could do in that building is HUGE!  But, more importantly, there is just a sense that God is moving in our church which is where most of the excitement comes from.  God is inspiring and mobilizing us to get ready to take everything to a new level.  Our mission to connect the disconnected is being infused with renewed focus, passion and energy.

For my fellow pastors out there, yes, I announced that we are going for a building that I don’t have a contract on.  Yes, we are going to be receiving an offering on May 17 (Commitment Sunday) for a building for which we are still negotiating.  And, yes, I know that might sound crazy to some, but I feel very strongly that the Lord wants us to go for this and that we, as a church, need to be praying together and preparing so I stepped out in faith and pulled the trigger to go for it.  I know the sequence may seem strange but it’s very Fusion if you know anything about our church.  :)

Whether you’re a part of Fusion or not, I’d like to ask you to continue to pray for this “advance.”  Pray that the Lord helps us to finalize our lease option deal with the owners.  Pray that He continues to make a way for us to get into the building.  (He’s already done so much!)  Pray that the offering the we are going to receive on Commitment Sunday will be exactly what the Lord wants it to be and that we’ll have everything we need to advance!

Just Plain Cool

I must say that having other pastors from all over the country praying for you is an amazing feeling.  I love the fact that we can come together via twitter or facebook and really pray for each other.  I just feel that it must thrill our Heavenly Father to no end.

For those of you that have been praying for me, as well as Fusion, thank you!  I’m honored and I truly appreciate it.

Verse for the Day

Faith is a well grounded assurance of that for which we hope, a conviction of the reality of the unseen.  Hebrews 11:1 (Weymouth)

Keep on Praying

We’ve been making a lot of progress lately at Fusion but we still need your prayers. Please pray that God’s will be done and that it’s done on His timetable. Pray that nothing would thwart or delay His work.

Also, please pray for the leadership of our church. Pray that we would walk in both faith and wisdom.

Thanks.

Getting Younger

ben

benThis may sound odd but I feel like God has supernaturally taken 10 years off me since we started pursuing the opportunity that we’re going to be talking about this weekend.  There’s just something about hearing from God and being directed by Him that causes vitality.

There’s no better place to be than in His will and at His side.
