The band did a great job with everything, especially Live and Let Die.
We had a decent crowd which included a ton of first-timer visitors.
God just flat showed up which is always good and something that I never take for granted.
I think the Lord empowered us all to face our giants today. How cool is that?
The 9’9″ pole, compliments of Jason Smith, seemed to really help illustrate a few points. (I was honestly worried that it would come across as silly but everyone I asked said that it worked. What do you think?)
My wife was amazing as always and extra smokin’ hot today. She was also smokin’ on that bass. Actually, the logs beside her on stage were also smokin’ a bit too.
Then to top it all off, we had a great newcomer’s lunch after church. I had a great time getting to know some new folks and attempting to answer their questions. All of them were so nice. (God seems to be sending some high caliber folks to our church these days.)
I don’t want to forget to mention the Fusion Two class we had yesterday too. We had a great class with a great bunch of folks!
Mary Howell rocks!
A big shout out to those folks that watched kids for us during the newcomer’s lunch! Thank you so much!
It’s been a very busy weekend for me personally. That’s for sure.
I’m excited for my buddy, Preston Porter. He preached today at Revolution Church. I’m sure he did a great job. I can’t wait to hear the podcast.
It seems like we’re losing a lot of celebrities lately. Farrah, Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson and, then today, Billy Mays. Weird. These things always seem to come in batches.
I was surprised how nostalgic I’ve been about the passing of Michael Jackson. I never dressed like him or anything but I have enjoyed his music for a huge chunk of my life. I grew up listening to the Jackson Five, then the Jacksons and, finally, Michael himself. It’s strange to think that he’s no longer making music. I guess I always hoped he’d make some sort of come back.
In some ways, he provided a big part of the soundtrack of my life.
It’s a little sickening to see all these entertainment reporters act all respectful and fawn over Michael Jackson when most of them tore him apart over the years. I guess it just goes to show how fickle the public is.
I saw one guy tweet that Michael Jackson was the Elvis of his generation. I tend to agree with that. Love him or hate him, he had a massive impact on pop culture.
I saw the Ghostbusters video game at Best Buy the other day. It looks very cool and it reminded me of what a great movie Ghostbusters was and is. It’s a classic.
That’s all for now. Later.
