Sunday Stuff 03-14-2010

I had a few people tell me that today was the most powerful day they had ever experienced at Fusion and I tend to agree.  The Lord was there in a major way this morning and I think something fundamental changed in us as a church.  Earlier in the week, I felt like God told me that He was going to unleash a spirit of prayer in a our church and I believe that’s exactly what He did.  He ignited something very powerful in us today and we are going to look back at this day months and years from now and know that it was a pivotal moment in our lives.

It was so awesome to see so many folks writing the names of loved ones as they prayed for them and committed to continue to pray for them.  I can’t help but feel that the Lord is going to bless this new movement of prayer in our church in ways beyond what we can imagine.

Fusion, I love you and I’m so very thankful for you.  You have no idea how much I care for each of you and my prayer is that God would use all this to not only help others but to draw us all closer to Him.  In the end, I think that’s just how He works.  As we are prompted by His love to focus on the needs of others, He will flow into our lives and bless us with His presence and every other blessing because of our obedience to His call to pray.

Hang on, Fusion, things are about to get VERY interesting!!

I am also beside myself as I think about what God has in store for us this Easter.  As powerful as all this is, it’s not all there is.  It’s all building up to an Easter that is going to blow our minds.

Well, that’s enough about what I think about today.  What did you think?

Lamby chillaxin in the crib

Here’s some other random stuff for the Sunday Stuff…

  • Everybody seemed to fall in love with Lamby.  He’s a big hit!  A star is born!
  • Our teams rocked as usual today!  If you’re not on a team, you’re just missing out.
  • I love Seth and Shannon.  They are amazing folks to be sure!
  • I also must say that Chad and Jason are two of the greatest people you’re every going to meet.
  • I truly miss working with Stephen, Angela and Sheryl.  They are three great, high-caliber people.
  • Ladies, we’ve got something cooking for you at Fusion that I can’t wait to make public but, alas, I can’t share anything right now.  Stay tuned.
  • PastorGear.com is going much better than I imagined it would at this point.  My gamble earlier in the week really paid off.  God just seems to be blessing it.
  • Amy and I watched Up in the Air which was nominated for best film and supposed “captured our era.”  I thought it was awful.  I’d rather watch any of the Ernest films or even ALL of them than watch that movie again.  I honestly can’t see what all he fuss was about.  Avatar was better.  ;)
  • Finances at the church were very low this week.  I’m not sure what to make of that.  Next weekend will be very telling.  Please keep praying about that.
  • I know I say it almost every week but I’m just amazed at all my wife does.  She’s absolutely incredible.
  • Prayer has become a HUGE focus of my life right now.  I simply can’t stop praying or reading the Bible.  It’s all I want to do.
  • Andy and Danice Eaton inspire me.  You guys rock!
  • My friend, Jeff Kapusta, is the real deal.  I sincerely believe that God’s hand is on him in a unique and powerful way.  I’m convinced that he’s an emerging leader that God is going to use in big, big ways in the coming years.
  • I got to spend some time with Shawn Lovejoy, the pastor of Mountain Lake Church, this past week.  He’s the real deal too.  I have a ton of respect for him and what God has done through him.  I’m so glad that God has put him in my life.
  • Congrats to my dear friend, Ren Buckland, for passing his heavy duty Microsoft exam.  We all knew he was going to hit it out of the park because he’s brilliant.  He’s also one of the greatest guys on the planet.
  • The “spring forward” Sunday is officially my least favorite Sunday of the year.  In the day in age, I don’t really see the need for the DST thing anymore.  I think we should abolish it.  Who’s with me?
  • I’m feeling really blessing right now.
  • Got to run.
  • Peace.

There are not enough words to express how totally amazing, awesome, wonderful, paradym changing (Oh, I’m so sure I spelled that wrong)…and just what a world rocking message you delivered today – I am so excited about everything that is happening at Fusion I can hardly contain myself!

Your practical insights, applications and prayer “distinctions” came at such a great time for me personally. You answered some very recent questions on the topic I was having.

So fabulous. The 8 lb 6 oz baby Jesus clip still has me grinning. Classic.
