I Quit Facebook

I Quit Facebook

I deactivated my facebook account the other day.  If you don’t see me there please don’t be alarmed or think that I’ve unfriended you or anything.  I just decided it was time to take a break so that I could focus on some other things.

I used to deactivate my facebook account all the time so this is nothing new for me.  In fact, I highly recommend doing it from time to time.  If you haven’t tired it, you might want to give it a go.

While I don’t miss all the noise, I do miss knowing what’s going on with all my friends that use the service.  That always draws me back so I’m sure I’ll reactivate my account at some point.  Thankfully, facebook keeps your account available for reactivation for quite a long time.

I’m still active here on my blog and on twitter if you’d like to connect with me outside of facebook.

  1. That’s funny. I have been toying with the idea of just taking a breather. Scott Belsky says we have to leave the insecurity work for the end of the day or designated periods. You might like the article http://the99percent.com/tips/5810/reduce-your-level-of-insecurity-work

I’ll think about it and see what happens.

I think Facebook has helped to lift “though shalt not covet” into the limelight of the modern era. Abused, it can easily become a Compare-Yourself-to-Others Machine.
