Sunday Stuff 01-20-2013

Here’s a new Sunday Stuff for all you faithful readers of the Sunday Stuffs.  Honestly, I’m not quite sure why you read them but I’m thankful you do.  Enjoy.

  • Man, what a great day we had today at Fusion!  It was one of those days when nothing special happened but it was all great.
  • I’m so very thankful that the Lord shows up each week at Fusion.  I never take that for granted.
  • I’m also thankful that Fusion is a place where we can laugh while we worship and serve and learn.
  • I think our services were evenly divided today.  I appreciate everyone that moved from one service to the other to make room for new folks.  Thank you!
  • We borrowed a $2000 gold coin today for a sermon illustration from Tara Jewelry.  I really appreciate them loaning us that.
  • It was kind of cool to hold a solid ounce of gold in my hand.  I think I might ask for a few of those for Christmas next year.
  • Today’s message was fun to preach.  I love talking about wisdom.
  • I hope the Lord was able to use the message this morning to truly inspire everyone to always seek Him and His wisdom.
  • I mentioned today in my message that my first car was a 1976 Cadillac Seville.  If you could imagine the car pictured above in a purple color you’d get an idea of what I was driving back then.
  • I really like the Martin Luther King video we showed this morning during the service.  It was great.
  • I think everyone knows this already but Jason and Shannon Smith had their baby this past week.  Everyone is happy and healthy.  I’m so pleased that the Lord has blessed the Smith’s in such an awesome way!
  • I really didn’t want the Falcons to lose today.  That was a hard loss.
  • I feel that the Lord is doing something new and fresh at Fusion.  He’s transforming our church.  I just sense a new wave of His Spirit coming through.  It started today.
  • I’ve been trying to get away for a few days of prayer every week since November but I just can’t ever seem to make it happen.  I guess the Lord has other plans.
  • I shut my Facebook account down over a week ago and I can honestly say that I’m not missing it.  Most of the time I just find Facebook to be a huge distraction.  The only think I do miss about it is the ability to let my friends know when I’m posted something to one of my blogs.
  • I bought an iMac for the church this afternoon.  I like Apple products by I always feel ripped off when I buy one.  Always.  They just charge too much for their stuff.
  • For at least the past six months, I’ve been far too busy.  Not just busy but too busy.  I’ve even been too busy for friends and friendships.  That’s not right.  I’ve got to get my calendar and task list back in control.
  • You guys should see the stuff I edit out of the Sunday Stuff posts before I post them!  :)
  • Success is being faithful with what God has given you.
  • The Lord is good and gives us what we need when we need it.  He’s also good enough to remove things that we don’t need from time to time.
  • That’s it for now.
  • May God’s peace direct and sustain you all.
