NNCC DAY 1

Well, my trip down has already paid off as far as I’m concerned.  It’s funny how the Lord works. He spoke to me in two subtle but undeniable ways yesterday about so decisions I’ve been dealing with.  Very cool!

I also got to hook up with Tadd Grandstaff and his right hand man, Tom, as well as Scott Whitaker.  It was SO GOOD to talk to all those guys.  Tadd and Scott are two very high caliber guys and I’m glad that I know them and that God keeps giving me opportunities to connect with them.

I went to Dave Ferguson’s talk first and it was great!  I’ve never visited his church but you can just tell that Dave, his team, and his church are getting the job done.  I love the passion that these guys have.  I picked up a lot of cool things in the sesson, that’s for sure.

Then, later, I drifted over to Bob Franquiz’s talk.  I simply must say that I just totally dig Bob Franquiz.  He’s awesome.  I appreciate how authentic he is.  Bob’s the real deal and he helps church planters in a huge way by being so up front and honest.

Bob’s session was called “Being Portable” or something like that but it should have been called “How to REALLY Pastor a Church Plant.”  There was so more in that talk than just portablity issues.

I wasn’t planning on visiting Bob’s session but I walked in and I couldn’t leave.  I got in there without anything to write on so I start taking notes on my blackberry.  (Bob, if you read this, I wan you to know that I wasn’t writing emails.  I was taking notes as fast as I could!)

All in all, a great first day at the conference for me.  I can’t wait for today’s opening session with Wayne Cordeiro.
