Things I Learn at Every Conference

Okay, there are a lot pastors/planters out there that have a done a great job posting notes from the NNCC so I won’t do much of that but I do want to post some things that I seem to learn at every conference I attend.

1.  I love my wife.  Simply put my wife is the most amazing person I’ve ever met.  Trips like this just tend to reinforce that truth to me.  The bottom line is that most women want security and stability so that they can create the homes they want to create.  Church planting and pastoring offer very little of that and it takes an amazing person to put up with all the faith-filled (risky) moves that following God in this fashion takes.  My wife does that with such a grace and charm that it’s truly amazing.  She’s beautiful in every way that you can be beautiful.

2.  I love my friends.  I’m not a big networker guy.  As most of you know, I’m shy which is an odd thing for a pastor but it’s true.  Most of the time, I don’t really know what to do with myself at mixer-type events but, at this point in my life, I’ve been blessed with a group of great friends and it’s such a wonderful joy to connect (or reconnect) with them at the various events.  Thanks, Gary, Tadd, and Scott!

3.  I love my team.  I think it’s telling that no matter where I go, I always find myself missing my incredible team at Mill Creek.  It’s so great to work with people that you love.  I’m blessed to work with some of greatest people in the world.

4.  I love my church.  Whenever I visit other churches, I learn a lot.  (That’s the reason I go.)  But, I always walk away thankful for Mill Creek.  To me, you guys are the greatest church in the world. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in such a short period of time.  I love you, church!
