Timbuk2

I absolutely LOVE my new Timbuk2 bag.  As most of you guys know, I’m a case freak and I’ve been looking for a new bag for some time now.  The truth is that I’m trying to streamline my life AND what I carry around with me.  (More about that later.)

In the past, I’ve always had a big black bag.  I’ve had all sorts of big black bags from all sorts of vendors.  I’ve had rolling versions and convertible backpack versions too.

When I was a IT/techie guy, I felt the need to look “professional” and to me professional meant a black bag.  Now that I’m a hip church planter-type that’s become a bit of a fashion icon (tongue firmly in cheek), I really started to feel that the basic black bags didn’t represent me at all.  I wanted some color and I wanted my bag to be smaller and lighter than anything I’ve ever had before.

I decided to go with the Timbuk2 company because of the incredible reviews they get for their quality and, honestly, I just liked the look of the bags.  They have all sorts of bags and you get any number of color combinations.  You can even order some pricey customized bags from their site.  I just picked one of their standard color combinations (chocolate/copper) and ordered it from an online vendor to save some money.

I’ve been using the bag for a little over a week and I just love the thing. I love the organization of it and the size is perfect for what I’m trying to do.  It has two water bottle holders.  I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with the second holder but I’m amazed at how many high-end bags don’t even have ONE water bottle holder.  To me, this is an essential ingredient to a good bag.  You may not need it every day but when you’re in an airport you definitely need a place for your bottle of water.

Anyway, I love this bag and I highly recommend Timbuk2 to anyone who wants a good bag with a bit of street cred.
