Let Go & Let God

I used to make fun of the phrase “let go and let God.”  I even preached against it in my younger days.  It seemed to be little more than a cliche to me but now I know that there are times when all you can do is let go and let God do His thing.  You just have to lay some things are His feet and walk away.  You’ve got to just let them go and pray “Thy will be done.”

I guess I used to think so negatively about this sort of thing because it seemed so passive to me but now I understand that it’s actually an act of faith.  There’s a huge difference between giving in and giving it over.  Giving it over to God is not that same as giving up.  The truth is that it takes great faith to really trust God, and His character.  It takes faith to believe that He really does know best and that He will take care of things beyond our control.

So, my friends, pray like crazy but let it go.  Drop it at His feet as an act of faith and watch what the Master does.  Step out in faith and walk away as you pray.  AND, feel the weight of it all slowly fade away.
