Special Kind of Crazy

It takes a special kind of crazy to want to be a pastor.  You shouldn’t even attempt to do it unless you’re half crazy.  It’s not for the timid or the faint of heart.  That’s for sure.  It’s also not for the pretty boys that don’t want to mess up their hair or their image.

The truth is there will be days when the enemy will hit you so hard that you won’t know what to do…other than to pray.  There will be days when everyone will misunderstand you.  There will be days when you disappoint others and other times when you disappoint yourself.  There will be days when you feel that you’re being asked to do the impossible.  And, there will be days when you will fall to your knees and ask God why He called you to do this work.

At some point, you’ll wonder if, perhaps, you’re not just half crazy.  You’ll wonder if you’re completely crazy.  Those that love you may wonder too.

There will also be days, however, when you’ll sense the very presence of the living God standing beside you.  There will be times when He’ll use you in some unfathomable way.  You’ll have days when you’ll see lives changed forever in ways that you can’t even begin to imagine.  And, there will be days when you will fall to your knees and thank God for allowing you to do this when He doesn’t really need you and you’ll beg Him to let you do it for the rest of your life.

  1. This was one of the worst weeks in ministry. I felt like nothing I did met with anyone’s approval. Just when you think you are the only one….Thanks this was encouraging.
