I took yesterday off and had my good friend, Charlie Pharis, come in and preach for me. By all accounts, he did a great job! Everybody at Fusion Church just loves Charlie to death. He’s awesome.
Everybody always says that the mark of healthy church is how well it does when the pastor is absent. Well, I’m pleased to report that the staff and our amazing volunteers did an awesome job without me. AND, everything ran very smoothly even though it was the first Sunday on our new holiday schedule. Adam really stepped it up too. He ended up being in charge of a lot of things this weekend and he survived!
I took the opportunity to visit a fast-growing church in the area. It was fun to visit but, honestly, I just ended up missing Fusion more. There’s really no place like Fusion to me. We’ve truly got something special going on at our church and I’m reminded of that every time I visit somewhere else.
Truthfully, I really needed the break. I had one of the most relaxing holiday breaks I’ve had in years! Now, I’m rested and ready to go. In fact, I can’t wait to get back into the saddle again this weekend!
