I’m very disappointed about the quality of my favorite TV shows lately. I only have a few shows that I really like and all of them have been pretty bad recently.
1. The Office: This is my favorite comedy on TV but the last few shows have been sub par. There have been a few laughs but it feels like the gifted actors are struggling to prop up bad writing. The shows just seem thin.
2. Battlestar Galactica: I’ve been waiting a year for this to come back on the air and it’s not very good. This is the last season and the potential is there but so far they just ain’t delivering. Frankly, the show just got weird and boring. I keep watching and hoping it will turn around but it’s not enjoyable.
3. Doctor Who: My kids and I love watching the new doctor who episodes. Like BSG, we’ve been waiting a year for a new episode and they’ve been very week. The last two-parter was fairly strong and shows some promise for the series as a whole but it used to be a lot better than this. I think some of it is because of Donna Noble not being to great of a companion.
Dude, I’m right there with you on “The Office.” I don’t watch the other two, so I can’t comment there. But “Office” has been awful lately. I agree that it’s got to be because of bad writing. Steve Carell could probably improv better than what he’s been given lately.

Hi Tony: I watch BSG, and like you, I have been disappointed. When I watch the new episodes, you get the feeling that they are compressing and changing the storyline in order to close out the series. Lee

I have to disagree with you on BSG and on the Office. On the Office, I thought the first one back from the strike (the dinner party) and last week’s where they went to the job fair were kind of weak, but I thought overall they’ve been pretty good. Many of the actors of the show are on the writing staff for, too.
I think BSG’s been pretty good, too. I thought the last season was the worst with the court room thing, but I’ve liked this season, and I’m trusting them to give a good ending.
