Prayer Focus #3:  Grace

Churches are often like basketball teams.  When the games get intense, lots of elbows start flying!  Unfortunately,  when this starts happening you’re a lot more likely to elbow your own teammates.  That’s why there has to be a lot of grace from everyone on the team.  They all have to understand that they are on the same team and for that they are all working towards the same end result.  They also have to just let the occasional elbow from their fellow team members roll off their back and remain focused on the game itself.

Right now, we’ve got a lot of different teams and groups working on all the various aspects of both getting the building ready for us and getting us ready for the building.  There are a lot of moving parts and they are moving at high intensity.  Please pray that we’ll be able to minimize the number of “friendly fire” instances and that when the random elbow does hit one of us that we’ll realize that it was an accident and let it go.  In other words, please pray that we would extend grace to each other in the midst of all this activity.

See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.  Hebrews 12:15 (NIV)
