I’ve been getting hammered with requests for pictures of our new building, mostly from other pastors, so I’ve decided to post some photos here. I’ll also explain some of our reasoning and thought processes along the way. My hope is that this stuff might help other pastors in similar situations as they are making their build out decisions.
Before we dig in you need to understand that we’ve been feeling like the Lord wants us to be “scrappy.” We feel like He’s been telling us the Fusion needs to be “lean and mean” and that we should leverage everything we have in every way possible. With that in mind, we decided to move into the space and be as frugal as possible while still trying to make it look as “Fusiony” as possible. In other words, this is design on a dime.
First, let’s look at the lobby…
This is a shot of the front doors leading into the lobby area.
This is the flooring we decided to go with in the lobby. It’s a LVT product. It’s supposed to be virtually indestructible and never needs any waxing or buffing. We were told that it will last 15 years and only needs to be wet mopped. (We’ll see how long it actually lasts!) We thought it looked good in the showroom and we’re very pleased with how it looks installed.
As you’ll see, we’re going for a wood and metal vibe in the lobby.
This is our resource table. We had a lot more stuff on our previous resource table but we’re trying to cut back in this area and simplify things. As you can see, we’re trying to go for a cleaner, more minimal, look. We need to flesh this out a bit more but it’s a start.
Speaking of starts, due to our tight budget, we decided early on that we’d move into the building and then add something new each week so what you’re seeing now is really only just the beginning.
This is our refreshment area. It’s curvy. I want to see more curvy stuff in the lobby as we proceed.
Here’s the men’s room door. I don’t love our signage right now. It’s okay but it feels a little too corporate. This is an area I intend to focus on in the coming weeks.
Men’s room mirror and sink. The men have manly soaps.
Women’s bathroom mirrors and sinks. (Lots of lotions and soaps.)
The light fixtures in the women’s bathroom.
This is what the stall doors look like in the bathrooms.
Water fountain. (You probably already guessed that.)
The doorways into the auditorium.
That’s it for the lobby. Next up, Sprouts…
Loving it! Looks like you guys did such a great job! I wish you could come work on my space over here for me! :)
I would’ve killed for a space like this as a church planter. So excited for you guys!
I’m glad you’re digging it, Pat. Thanks for the feedback.
