Last weekend, I talked about trying to have a better attitude at church.  I want to clarify one point I made.  I don’t think the goal is to be overly positive to the point of being ridiculous.  I don’t think that God is asking us to pretend that bad things are good.  He certainly doesn’t want us to be fake.  The Bible clearly teaches there’s both a time to laugh and a time to cry.  It’s not wrong to cry or mourn when you take a bit hit.  God’s cool with all of that.

My point on Sunday was that God wants us to be sure that we don’t let minor things become major things.  I think a “bad attitude” is one with no perspective.  It’s an attitude that zooms in on tiny problems and blows them out of proportion.  It’s myopic and, ultimately, inaccurate.  and God wants us to keep the big picture in mind.  No matter what happens, He’s still on the throne and firmly in charge.

Purpose in your heard to focus on Him and His goodness.  Determine ahead of time to major on what’s truly important and to focus on the many gifts He has given all of us.
