NT28: Day 4

I love reading the book of Acts!  It shows us so much of how the church ought to be.  It also shows us the struggles the church will always face.  There were truly a lot of ups and downs in the early days of the church but through it all lives were changed and people kept coming to know Jesus.

I so appreciate the boldness the apostles had to get criticized, threaten and beaten and still keep going and going!

In the first chapter, Jesus told His followers that they were going to be His witnesses in all the world and even though it was persecution that was driving them from town to town at times, they did share Him everywhere they went.  I think we’re supposed to do the same thing.  Wherever we go, whatever we do, we must share Jesus.

What are your thoughts about the rest of the book of Acts?

  1. I’m amazed at how the leaders of those times always wanted to banish the apostles out or have them killed for preaching the word of God, but they didn’t have the guts to go through with their original threats. Guess they knew deep down in their hearts that what the apostles were saying was true. Divine intervention??? I think so!

  3. I am overwhelmed by the apostles’ devotion, faith, and persistence. It is amazing how God worked through them to change so many lives. Powerful.
