I don’t often look at the stats here on my blog but I thought it would be cool to see what the top posts were in 2009. Below is a list of the top ten posts (largest number of views) with a little commentary for each of them. I’ll be honest, I was surprised by some of them.
- Online Communion Service: This post gets tons of traffic from Google. Evidently, there are a lot of people that are interested in online communion services. Go figure. It was sort of neat idea when we did it but I don’t think it’s something we would do regularly.
- Important Building News: This was a hard video to shoot but, contrary to what some thought, I wasn’t crying or depressed. I was just disappointed. Little did I know what God would do for us later in the year. Still, this video is hard for me to watch.
- Opportunity: This post was about needing prayer while we were negotiating a deal with the owners of the building we wanted. We, of course, didn’t ultimately get that building but I now see that as an answer to prayer.
- When People Leave You: This post has been a wildly popular post. People mention it to me all the time. I guess everyone experiences something like this at some point in their lives.
- Heartbreaking News: This post was hard to write and it’s still hard to read. I want to say that I still love Gary Lamb and pray for him. I also pray for Revolution Church, which now has a new pastor. I believe 2010 is going to be a big year for both Gary and Revolution. I also believe that God will get the glory!
- Big News: This post makes me laugh. If only I had waited one week. :)
- Vogel: I’m not sure why this post got so many views but I loved that day with my family and it’s a treat to look at it again today. BTW, the first black and white photo is absolutely the most beloved photo that I’ve ever taken.
- Up is a Downer: This review of the movie Up got a lot of views this year. The funny thing is that we bought a copy for the kids (we have all the Pixar movies) and after re-watching it, I like it a better. It’s a good movie. Just not a great movie for kids.
- Our Big News: This post is not about the first building we tried to get earlier in the year. This is about our current building. Can you say “signed contract”? :)
- Proud: This post celebrates Revolution Church’s anniversary in light of all the problems they had to work through. I’m still proud of those guys for holding it all together.
Honorable Mention – These posts were in the top 20.
- A Message for Men: This post took off. People were tweeting it and retweeting it. I guess it struck a nerve.
- Rock Stars: This one was heartfelt but I think it was a little misunderstood too.
- Christian Leadership…Step One: This post is short but it says all I wanted to say.
Looking forward, I’d love to hear what you’d like for me to blog about in 2010. Any suggestions, thoughts or comments?
