My Sunday at Lifepoint

Yesterday, I had the great privilege of teaching at Lifepoint Church in Wilmington, North Carolina.  My good friend, Jeff Kapusta, is the pastor of this great church and I was truly honored to be invited to come and speak.

I’ve just got to say that I love Jeff.  As I shared yesterday at LifePoint, he’s the real deal.  He’s a true man of God and I consider myself blessed to be his friend.

I also love what God is doing at Lifepoint.  You can just sense God’s hand on this place.  I’m honored to be an overseer of this amazing church and I hope that I can help her to become everything God envisions her to be.

When I showed up, yesterday all the volunteers were still setting up and it really reminded me of Fusion when we were portable.  It was so great to see the teams working so hard and to witness all the comraderie that was going on.  It almost made me miss setting up and tearing down each week….almost.  :)

Although I had a great time yesterday, I must confess that I miss my family.  I also miss my church family back at Fusion.  I can’t tell you how hard it is for me to be away from the ones I love but I know that God wanted me to come and speak here and that this is a good thing for me.  It truly helps me be a better pastor at Fusion to get out and see how other churches are doing things.  It’s hard to explain but I find that it sort of revives my ministerial soul.

Speaking of Fusion, I heard that Chad McIlvenna did an outstanding job yesterday!  I’m very proud of Chad and I’m so happy that he was able to use his gifts in this exciting new way.  I can’t wait to hear the podcast!
