Is a blog an appropriate place for a man to declare his great love for his wife on her birthday? I think so. If you disagree, you might want to skip this post.
A huge part of my calling is communicating and yet I find it hard to truly express how much I love you, my dear wife. Our relationship started off with me being your secret admirer and I still admire you today. I marvel at your beauty and I am enraptured by your grace. Your love and care for our children, not to mention your patience with them, amazes me. Your gentle, quiet spirit still blows me away and, at the same time, ministers to my soul.
My beloved, you are a wonderful mother, an amazing chef, a gorgeous woman, a gifted designer, and a talented bass player. You are poetry in motion, a gift to all that know you, a faithful friend, and the love of my life! How can one woman be all things and more?
There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all! Proverbs 31:29 (NLT)
It seems odd to be separated from you on your birthday but I know that you’re having the time of your life with your girlfriends at the beach. I also know how the beach restores your soul. I pray that you have the greatest birthday ever today, my Sweetheart!
All of that to say…
Well said, Tony. You do have an amazing wife. To know Amy is to love her. She is a wonderful role model to wives and mothers alike. It is a blessing to have her as our pastor’s wife. You are a sweet husband to make the sacrifice of letting her go celebrate her birthday without you. I hope you are able to keep the house together while she is away ;)
Thank you so much, sweetie. I know for certain that I would not be who am today if not for the fact that I’ve known you, loved you, been loved by you, and seen God’s love in you. I’m so thankful that you once secretly admired me, that God Himself spoiled your secret, and that you proposed to me 20 years ago today. I love you so much!
You all are both beautiful for the love you share is so apparent. Sometime I sneak a look at how lovingly you both look at each other. You are both truly blessed and defintly a role model for the rest of the church and whats more excellent is that you all have shared your life challenges to help the rest of us see that you can get through even the toughest challenges with the love of God and it serves as an encouragement and example for the rest of us. God bless you Amy and Pater Tony on your anniversary and Amy’s birthday.
tissues, I need tissues! You guys are a great couple and a beautiful example of marriage and partnership! Happy Birthday Amy!
Reading that is like eating a dozen hot Krispy Kremes, you start to feel sick toward the end but can’t stop eating. Just kidding, thanks for posting this, reminds me of Jesus’ love for his bride. Happy birthday Amy! mmmmmmm….Krispy Kreme doughnuts….mmmmmmm
