I stopped by the local library last night to pick up a book. While I was there I noticed some sort of political rally happening in the meeting room at the far end of the building. I should have known something was up because the parking lot was absolutely covered in all sorts of political signs.
I stood outside the meeting room long enough to gather that multiple candidates were being given the floor in turn to make their respective pitches.
I was so very tempted in that moment to walk into the middle of the room, throw my baseball hat on the ground, scream, “I”m throwing my hat into the ring”, and then walk out without uttering another word.
I didn’t do it but I thought about it for long time. I fear I missed an opportunity. I also might have cinched some sort of nomination.
