FranklinCovey PlanPlus Saga

At this moment, there is really only one task management product on the market for tablets that is worth it’s salt and that’s PlanPlus from FranklinCovey.  It basically comes in two flavors, PlanPlus for Outlook and PlanPlus for Windows XP.  (PlanPlus for Windows XP was formerly called Tablet Planner but the folks at FC wanted to market the product to those that didn’t own tablets.)  The big difference between the products is that the Outlook Version hooks itself into Outlook while the Windows XP Version syncs with outlook or other PIMs.  The Windows XP version is slicker because it doesn’t have to live within the confines of Outlook but after numerous problems with the syncing I just gave up on it.  Others might not have such problems but I wrestled with the thing forever and finally decided it wasn’t worth the battle.  Beyond that PlanPlus for Outlook allows me to assign tasks and do a few other outlook specific functions.

Although I’m not a huge FC guy or anything. I do like the ABC task management that I get in PP.  I live in a world of tasks, goals and projects and PP really helps me manage it all.  I’ve been reading and toying with David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology but I’m just not there yet
