Charter Sucks

You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting much lately.  There are two reasons.  First, I’ve been so incredibly busy.  Second, and more to the point, my internet connection has been out at my house for ten days now.  I can’t tell you how frustrating that is.

Charter has succeeded in confirming my views of them as a company.  They failed to meet even the lowest of expectations of them.  The company underscores the importance of customer service.  It’s amazing how frustrating it can be to deal with poor customer service.  Charter’s motto is “get hooked.”  It ought to be “get lost.”  I’ve been with the Charter now for over a decade and the only thing that they have consistent provided for me is a monthly bill.

We’re going to be doing a series on the value of serving others soon and I’m sure that this experience with Charter will provide me with a lot of illustrations so I might just get the last laugh.  I also just might get DSL very soon but that’s another story.

  1. i feel you. my family is moving to oakwood next week and we just found out they don’t offer dsl up there. so i called to add high-speed to our account and transfer it to the new address. after over an hour on the phone, they were finally able to find our current account. it was impressive.

  3. Robbie,
    Bellsouth has DSL in Oakwood. In fact, they have one of their largest data centers in Flowery Branch. – Give them a call. Their online database is way out of date due to the merger with AT&T.;
    Tony,
    Charter has listed the following excuses…
    -Construction at Exit 16
    -A Water Worker digging up a line with a backhoe
    -A Thunderstorm

    I know you are paying for service, not excuses. But, it looks like that’s what you are getting.
