It seems to me that many times God chooses to bless us through people or circumstances we wouldn’t choose ourselves. We want and like the blessings themselves and they are, indeed, good things but He often sends them by way of conduits that we neither expect or want.
I can’t tell you how many times God has brought an answer to pray to me through people I don’t even like. :) Or, He’ll bless me through a situation that makes me uncomfortable.
Why does He do it that way? Well, God’s goal in blessing us is not just the giving of good gifts. He certainly enjoys giving a good gift but every gift from God has a higher purpose and that is to grow us. At the end of the day, God’s goal in giving us gifts is to make us more like His Son.
