You are being watched. Your neighbors, co-workers, family members, and friends are all watching you.
These people are not doing it for any malicious reasons. They’re just observing your life to see if there’s anything they can glean from it.
The truth is that we all are struggling to make our way through life. It’s hard work and it’s even harder to know if you’re succeeding at it so we all look for examples – any kind of example – to see how other people are muddling their way through it all.
The end result is that, whether you like it or not, your decisions and actions impact others. This is both good and bad.
When you decide to take courageous, positive steps, others are inspired to take their own courageous steps. And, sadly, when you decide to take selfish, negative steps, others feel more liberty to do the same.
Of course, people won’t mimic your every move but, be assured, somebody somewhere will certainly feel emboldened to do something similar to what you have chosen to do, so choose wisely.
You are a role model for someone. You’re setting the pace. Be careful then how you live.
